Bhutanese Red Rice is grown at 8,000 feet in the Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan. Irrigated with 1,000 year old glacier water, this exotic rice has a nutty, earthy flavor, soft texture and beautiful russet color. You can enjoy this heirloom rice, which we toasted and blended with Tukdah Black Tea. It is grown not far from Bhutan high in the Himalayas in the Darjeeling district of northern India. Tukdah is full of flavor with a lovely muscatel character and a hint of nuttiness. An excellent 1st flush Darjeeling. Click on thumbnail image for enlarged view. |
